Cultivation Mode

HKUST(GZ) adopts collegiate system and a run-through cultivation model to cultivate future-oriented and innovative talents.

The College System

HKUST (GZ) adopts the collegiate system for its undergraduate education. Colleges serve the purpose of cultivation, and prepare students socially for mature life.

Within each college, students have the opportunity to meet academics from around the world and from a broad range of subjects, based on which a tutor system is implemented.

Colleges, as a platform for cross-disciplinary enlightenment, complement students’ academic growth in their professional fields. In short, each college is a community for students to live, study and conduct academic events, and a home for them physically and mentally.

Run-through Cultivation

HKUST(GZ) cultivates future-oriented and innovative talents through a run-through cultivation model which is featured by Bachelor-MPhil track, Bachelor-MPhil-PhD track, and Bachelor-PhD track.

Undergraduate students are recruited without admission into a specific program; they need to declare their program of study at the end of the second year.

  • Undergraduate Studies : 4 years
